RIE MASTENBROEK TROPHY

The Rie Mastenbroek Trophy is named after the swimmer Rie Mastenbroek (1919 - 2003) from Rotterdam. In 1936 she won as 17 girl at the Olympic Games of Berlin three times gold and one silver. This made here the first women in history who won four medals during one Olympic Games.

People from all over the world will remember this amazing Aan deze ongelofelijke prestatie zullen miljoenen zwemliefhebbers over de hele wereld jaarlijks worden herinnerd als de snelste zwemmer op het Rondje Noordereiland de Rie Mastenbroek Trofee krijgt uitgereikt.

Bij de Rie Mastenbroek Trofee hoort verder een prijs van € 1.000,- dat de winnaar in zijn land van herkomst dient te gebruiken voor de ontwikkeling van zwemmen in open water.

Rondje Noordereiland is an annual Open Water Swimming event of 3 km which bring people together and celebrate our precious water resources by swimming around the Noordereiland in the city center of Rotterdam at the last Sunday of July. With the Rondje Noordereiland we ask attention for the most successful ecological venture of the European Union.
